I loved this. In the mental state that I am this gave me a reason to become more aware and sort of “open” my eyes to seek out the glimmers. Thank you always for great reading from you. 🌸
Very interesting j.e. One glimmer I just had was a trip down memory lane with a friend about my dad. Although it brought me to tears it was a sweet cry. Probably not quite a glimmer for most folks but it was for me. Ok here’s one. I sat and watched the snow fall yesterday.
Yes. I think a glimmer for one person might not be one for others. When I visited my Aunt Katie back in September for her 100th birthday, she reminded me how much I missed my dad who was 20 years older than her. Bittersweet. Acknowledging mixed emotions unique unto yourself may indeed be a glimmer, like meeting a unique personality, observing a unique animal, plant or insect.
"Glimmers." I love this! Noticing and staying present are things I have been working on...and one thing I am doing is keeping a gratitude journal of "little" things I notice....the crackle of a morning fire, the rainbows within the soap bubbles, etc. I write down 3 every morning and it inspires me to look for more "glimmers" throughout my day. I am definitely in a better "head space" than before I started this practice.
I’m dog obsessed. I hadn’t thought about how my dogs provide me with countless daily doses of glimmers. Also I’ve been thinking about what it is therapy dogs do for patients and staff when they visit the hospital where I work, but it must be these glimmers, a small moment of joy that brings hope in an otherwise stressful time.

Sounds like they give you a stronger sense of being in the world, of agency. We can certainly use more of that! Thanks for your continued support🙏
Always...your Substack is a favorite!
Hi. I teach a particular Gratitude tool. I appreciated the clarity with which you explained glimmers. And what a rich and lovely site you have.
Thank you🙏

Ah, yes. My dog Jax gives me a daily dose. I suspect that's why pet videos often go viral. They are a reliable source of glimmers.
