Wellness capitalism is a term that refers to the increasing marketization of health and wellness products and services. As the demand for these products and services grows, there is a risk that consumers may be exposed to false or misleading information, and may be taken advantage of by companies or individuals who are more interested in making a profit than in providing effective treatment.

One of the dangers of wellness capitalism is that it can lead to the overdiagnosis and overtreatment of certain conditions, such as ADHD, as companies and individuals may be more interested in selling products or services than in providing accurate diagnoses and appropriate treatment. This can lead to individuals being prescribed unnecessary medications or undergoing unnecessary treatments, which can have negative effects on their health and well-being.
