A photo was made in nineteen-oh-seven

Of a British family, as if taken from heaven,

Little did they know, five years from that day,

Lives would be changed in a horrible way.

Lifeboat C, symbol of grit & hope,

In the face of tragedy, how do we cope?

For one family it was their saving grace,

As they said goodbye to the Titanic, with tears on their face.

A dad & his family, aspirations in hand

Of a new life in America, a bright future they planned,

As a ship sinks a father needs to be brave,

Lifeboat C, save my family from a watery grave.

Lifeboat C, resilience & hope,

In the face of tragedy, how do we cope?

For one family, it was their saving grace,

As they waved goodbye to a dad with tears on their face.

A desperate crowd on deck, the bow dipping low,

The chairman of the board, his ethically dubious show,

But Lifeboat C was filled with wives & children too,

With frightened men paddling, rowing into the blue.
